May 19. Donetsk. According to the recently adopted constitution of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), the deputies of the DPR Supreme Council elected the speaker of the People's Council Denis Pushilin as the head of the presidium. This was announced by the co-chairman of the DPR government, Miroslav Rudenko.
Denis Pushilin, along with some other militia leaders, appears on the EU sanctions list, which was published on April 29.
Earlier it was reported that by the decision of the government of the DPR, Alexander Borodai was chosen as the prime minister of the unrecognized republic.
The deputies elected Vladimir Makovich as the deputy of Pushilin.
According to the Constitution of the DPR, the Supreme Council of the DPR - the parliament of the republic, is the permanent highest and only legislative (representative) body of state power in the DPR.
The DPR Supreme Council was formed in the DPR on May 14. Since then, it has served as the supreme legislative body of the unrecognized republic.
