ArcelorMittal receives three awards at Platts Global Metals

The annual awards, which define excellence and achievement in the global steel industry, were presented in London. ArcelorMittal won the Deal of the Year nomination for the acquisition of ThyssenKrupp Steel USA through a joint venture with Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation. The deal, which closed in February this year, was one of the largest in the steel industry for years.

Greg Ludkowski, Vice President of Global Research and Development at ArcelorMittal, took home the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award and his unique contribution to steel industry innovation over the past decades. Accepting the award, he spoke of his passion for his chosen profession: "It is a great honor for me to be awarded, I am in awe of my work to innovate to create and design new steels for the whole world."

Greg Ludkowski has also been recognized as an outstanding scientist and manager creating applications for the company's clients. Today he leads the research center at ArcelorMittal, which operates on five continents and leads activities in almost every product category.
Despite the enormous scope of these responsibilities, Greg continues to be an incredibly fruitful source of innovative ideas and solutions. Greg's management is solely responsible for the breakthrough of new products into the markets of the world, some of which have been appreciated and used by the Honda SUV MDX for a long time.
ArcelorMittal received its third prize for leadership in the steel industry. The judges awarded ArcelorMittal high status for its leadership in new product development and its approach to corporate responsibility and brand strength.
