Russian flats producers HRC increased their export offerings by $ 10-15 per tonne last week, limiting the availability of their exports as domestic demand picks up during the summer.
Hot-rolled steel offers from Russian plants are at the level of $ 540-550 per tonne FOB Black Sea. However, Ukrainian factories continue to offer at the previous levels, which is more synchronous with market realities of $ 510-525 per ton FOB Black Sea.
This move runs counter to global levels, which have long been crippled by Chinese proposals. However, this is unlikely to have a serious impact on the situation, with the exception of nearby markets where HRC steel is used for critical engineering solutions and pipe applications, as well as for the automotive industry and other areas.
