Ducab Aluminum announces plans to establish a major plant in Khalifa, located in the industrial zone of Abu Dhabi, also known as Kizad. Ducab is a supplier of cabling and wiring products in the UAE and has now signed an agreement to acquire a plot of land for the construction of an aluminum plant in the Qizad cluster.
The plant will be Ducab's sixth facility in the UAE, along with three of its facilities in Musaf and two in Dubai. Ducab also owns AEI Cables in the UK, which was acquired earlier this year. Ducab's Qizad facility is expected to be operational by 2015 and will focus on the production of aluminum rods and wires for power lines, supplying cables to the manufacturing and utility sectors.
Khaled Salmin, CEO of Kizad said “with Ducab, we have won another major business project in Kizad. We currently have 54 high profile national and international investors. Ducab's manufacturing facilities will perfectly integrate with our aluminum cluster and leverage the power of nearby Emirates Aluminum, one of the world's largest aluminum smelters and a tenant in the Kizad cluster. "
Jamal Salem, Chairman of Ducab said that "The location of the Kizad plant offers Ducab a unique opportunity to network with other industries, identify future growth opportunities and improve production efficiency in terms of logistics."
