Siemens wins order for Mulpic cooling system from China Steel

Siemens получила заказ на систему охлаждения Mulpic от China Steel
China Steel Corporation (CSC), a Taiwanese steel manufacturer, has ordered the installation of the Mulpic (Multipurpose Cooling System) system from Siemens Metals Technologies. An intensive cooling line is being installed on the existing rolling mill and will be operational by June 2015. The Mulpic system will increase the durability of CSC products, Siemens assures.

The CSC rolling mill has an annual capacity of about 1.1 million tonnes and has not yet been equipped with an accelerated cooling system. Thanks to Siemens' new Mulpic system, significantly faster cooling rates can be achieved, allowing CSC to expand its product portfolio to include high-strength steel for shipbuilding and pressure vessels, Siemens says.

Siemens President and CEO said: "Siemens Metals Technologies is committed to helping industrial customers improve their productivity by providing cutting edge technology and solutions and paving the way for sustainable development."

Siemens will supply electrical and automatic equipment for the Mulpic system. Assistance will also be provided to introduce refrigeration automation models into the company's existing equipment. Mulpic will ensure consistent properties over the entire length and width of the wafer, minimizing the need for further processing. The introduction of the new Mulpic system will increase the number of systems installed worldwide from 2001 to 21, Siemens said.
