Severstal North America wins national award

Columbus, Mississippi - Severstal North America, a leading steel producer in the United States and a subsidiary of Severstal, a global metals and mining company, received the Excellence in Steel Production Efficiency award. The award was presented because the scrap purchase and optimization projects resulted in significant savings for the company.

The Best Practice Award was presented to the company during the American Metal Market Forum in New York. The award was received by Madhu Raneide, Vice President and General Manager of Severstal Columbus, who received it on behalf of the company and recognized the entire team and all of their employees who have achieved the award for achievement, innovation and excellence in the metals industry. Severstal Columbus is recognized as the best in the operational achievement category.

An innovative program for the purchase and use of scrap metal has resulted in significant savings for the company. Earlier this year, Severstal Columbus achieved a major milestone in its operations as a result of operational improvements, delivering a record $ 113 per tonne with USD 102.50 EBITDA per tonne.
