Russian steel producer Severstal says it intends to supply 60 thousand tons of steel for companies producing household appliances and packaging in the second half of the year under already signed contracts, and 19.5 thousand tons under contracts that will be closed in the third quarter of 2014.
This suggests that Severstal has expanded its practice of entering into long-term agreements with enterprises in the household appliances sector. The volume of supplies in the first half of the year under agreements with manufacturers of this sector, concluded in 2013, reached 38 thousand tons.
The increase in steel supplies was mainly due to manufacturers of high-quality equipment, for the production of which cold-rolled steel is supplied. In addition, Severstal supplies these producers with galvanized and hot-rolled pickled steel. The expansion of the client base was achieved through changes in production technology, taking into account the needs and requirements of further processing at the enterprise of a particular customer.
Recently, the number of Severstal clients from this segment has grown significantly, including enterprises located in Russia, the CIS countries and far abroad. The metal products supplied by Severstal are used for the production of gas stoves, refrigerators, washing machines and dishwashers, shelving and industrial packaging.
The signing of long-term contracts and agreements allows customers to build stable and fruitful relationships with Severstal, while not losing sight of their individual needs, taking into account the specifics of the production of each household appliance enterprise. In addition, the company provides technical support and support right up to the moment the products are manufactured at the customer's facility.
