According to the latest data released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, the country's iron ore exports in June 2014 increased significantly year on year. The country exported 29.55 million tons of iron ore during the month.
However, this is 3.7 percent lower than the volume of exports during the last month, when Brazil exported 30.690 million tons of iron ore in May this year. However, exports during June 2014 were 13.2 percent higher than exports in the same month a year earlier.
Brazilian iron ore exports totaled 26.10 million tonnes in June 2013. Revenues generated from iron ore exports totaled $ 2.30 billion in June this year. However, export earnings in June 2014 fell sharply by 11.0 percent from the previous month. However, this month's revenues are up nearly 8 percent from June 2013 revenues.
The export price of iron ore in the country averaged $ 78.2 per ton during the month of June this year. In general, the export of iron ore in the country for the first six months of this year amounted to 156.740 million tons.
