However, the company announced that it intends to raise rebar prices by RMB 20 per tonne, due to increased demand for rebar in the construction sector in late summer. After the price change for HRB400 rebar with diameters from 14 mm to 25 mm, they will be at least 3200 yuan per ton. It should be noted that the company cut its rebar prices by RMB 20 per tonne in mid-June due to poor demand.
On the other hand, representatives from Hebei Iron & Steel announced their decision to cut rebar prices for contracts from mid-July. Prices for HRB400 rebar with diameters of 8mm-12mm will be reduced by RMB 30 per ton. After the fall, prices will be RMB 3140 per tonne including VAT.
At the same time, Hebei also decided to raise prices for wire rod in response to increased demand in the region. Prices for HPB300 wire rod 6.5mm-10mm will be raised RMB20 /t to RMB3,160 /t for deliveries from mid-July, a spokesman for Hebei Iron & Steel said. According to a press release from the Taiwanese company Feng Xin, rebar prices will remain at the May level.
