Steel production in Europe fell 4.9 percent in June this year

Crude steel production across the EU-28 fell 4.92 percent during June from the previous month, according to the latest data provided by the World Steel Association.

Highest yield in June was achieved by German production. Germany produced 3.577 million tonnes this month, significantly lower than the country's 3.923 million tonnes production during May this year. The reduction was 9.33 percent.

Croatia had the lowest steel output. However, Croatia's total crude steel production rose 5.26 percent to 20,000 tonnes in June this year, up from 19,000 tonnes in May. France, Hungary, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom recorded an increase in steel production in June compared to May.

On the other hand, steel production in most countries, including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden, showed a sharp drop in production during the month of June 2014.
