The Casting and Rolling Complex, a branch of the Open Joint Stock Company OMK Stal, based in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, increased production of hot-rolled coiled steel in the first half of 2014 by 6 percent compared to the same period last year, producing a total of 530 thousand tons of these products. During the period under review, a total of 162 thousand tons of strips and 24 thousand tons of sheets were also produced.
Oleg Fedotov, Director of LPK, said that "the increase in production was caused by an increase in the consumption of sheet steel by electric-welding pipe shops at the Vyksa metallurgical plant, whose production capacity, along with the volume of orders, increased compared to the previous year." the third pipe electric welding shops of the Vyksa Steel Works (VMZ).
Open Joint Stock Company VMZ plans to expand the range of pipes produced and increase production in the near future. In particular, after the installation of three new highly productive pipe lines, its capacity will grow by almost a third to 290,000 tons of pipes per year.
OJSC OMK-Stal conducts all sales operations for OMK products and supplies the company's production units with technical and material resources. OMK-Stal performs all the functions related to the sale of pipes, hardware, rolled ferrous metals, assortments of the Vyksa, Chusovsky and Almetyevsk plants, and is also engaged in export supplies of rolled iron and ferrovanadium, pipes and railway wheels.
