MMK named the best Russian producer of flat products

The Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) won first place among the producers of sheet metal in Russia. The industry magazine "Metal Supply and Sales" published the traditional rating of the best manufacturers and suppliers of metallurgical industry products for the first half of 2015. The second in the list of the best producers of sheet metal was NLMK, the third - Severstal, the fourth - Ural Steel, the fifth - Ashinsky Iron and Steel Works.

MMK also took the second position in the rating of the leading manufacturers of galvanized and painted steel, in which NLMK was in first position, Severstal - in third, Lysva Metallurgical Plant - in fourth, Tekhinveststroy - in fifth. In addition, MMK was in third place in the list of major producers of long products, followed by EVRAZ, second by Mechel, fourth by NLMK Long, and fifth by Severstal.

Based on the results for the first half of 2015, the MMK-METIZ Magnitogorsk Hardware and Calibration Plant, which is part of the MMK Group, was named one of the top three manufacturers of metal products. The five best manufacturers of hardware looks like this: 1. Mechel; 2. Severstal-metiz; 3. MMK-METIZ; 4. NLMK-Hardware; 5. EVRAZ ZSMK.

The leading positions of the OJSC MMK Group in the list of the leading Russian producers of flat-plate products were achieved due to the implementation, over the past ten years, of a strategy focused on the development of rolling production of products with high added value. To this end, over the past few years, the company has created modern high-tech production, focusing on the production of high quality sheet products. These facilities include: a complex for the production of heavy-plate steel (mill 5000), a modern universal cold-rolling complex (mill 2000), which supplies products for the automotive and construction industries, as well as for the production of household appliances.

The magazine's rating included the leading Russian manufacturers of steel products for the domestic market by types: bar, sheet, aluminum, stainless and non-ferrous rolled products, as well as pipes, metal products. The rating was formed on the basis of a survey of consumers of the products of metallurgical companies, the conclusions of experts in the steel market and a complete analysis of the companies' activities. The leaders were determined by the level of business development and service, the volume of supplies and the quality of products, as well as the degree of reliability in fulfilling contractual obligations and the openness of their operations.
