Aerospace and defense industry revenues increased

Выросли доходы аэрокосмической и оборонной промышленности
In 2015, global aerospace and defense revenues were $ 674.4 billion, up 3.8 percent from a year earlier, mainly due to the development of civil aviation. In 2015, the global aerospace and defense sector grew by 3.8 percent, surpassing the growth rate of the global gross domestic product by 2.4 percent.

The development of the aerospace and defense industry contributes to the consumption of metal products throughout the world and in Russia, in particular. So, the company Iceberg AS supplies a wide range of rolled metal products for the defense and space industries, aircraft and marine shipbuilding, as well as the oil and gas and construction industries, including sheet hot-rolled, cold-rolled, corrugated steel, titanium, stainless steel, galvanized, copper, aluminum and other products.

Large companies in Europe have been more successful than in the United States. After several years of decline, the global defense sector improved its revenues by 1.7 percent from a year earlier. Civil aviation revenues grew by a whopping 6.4 percent for the year.

The significant increase was recorded mainly by European companies, whose revenues rose 8.2 percent, compared with 1.4 percent growth for US companies, according to a report by Deloitte, which is based on an analysis of the results of the 100 largest companies in the aerospace and defense industry, whose revenues reached at least $ 500 million according to the financial statements as of December 31, 2015.

The revenues of the analyzed companies increased by $ 24.8 billion and reached $ 674.4 billion. Of the 100 companies analyzed, 34 recorded a drop in income. Most of them are manufacturers of military equipment.

In 2016 and 2017, companies in this industry are set to rise with rising defense spending in many countries. However, revenue growth for the entire aerospace and defense sector continues to be driven by revenue from aircraft and aircraft manufacturers. In 2015, the industry increased revenue by 6.35 percent to $ 325.5 billion. At the same time, a good result was achieved due to the demand for air transportation of passengers, in particular, in the Middle East, India and China.

Last year, the civil aviation sector set new records in terms of shipments and orders for new aircraft. Shipments rose 3.3 percent to 1,397 units with a record number of orders to 13,467 units, a 3.4 percent increase. compared to the previous year.
