Russian gas floods Europe through Ukraine

Российский газ наводняет Европу через территорию Украины
There is a record increase in Russian gas exports to Europe using the Nord Stream, Yamal and Druzhba gas pipelines.

Winter has not yet begun, and the demand for Russian gas is as if Europe is experiencing extreme cold. Europe is always carefully preparing for the heating season, while the heating season has already started in Russia. Although it is not complete without the repair of external communications, including the replacement of supports for heat pipelines, bends and other elements of engineering networks. Moreover, there are now discounts on supports for pipelines of heating, sewerage, water pressure and oil and gas networks of the Tsivilsky Metalware Plant, which also produces steel fittings for pipelines with thermal insulation.

And the fact that the Europeans are actively buying gas is also proof that Russian gas occupies a very competitive position in the European market. It should be noted that Russia is still the largest gas supplier to the EU market. Its share in the EU gas market is about 30 percent.

The daily gas supply increased mainly due to the increase in transmission through the Druzhba pipeline, which passes through the territory of Ukraine, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Germany. So, what caused the increase in Russian gas purchases?

Experts say that Europe buys large quantities of raw materials "in reserve" and pumps them into underground gas storage facilities. There are two reasons for this decision. First, the coming cold months and the associated increase in gas demand. The second reason is that the price of raw materials is low (this is due to low oil prices at the end of last year, and the price of gas reacts with a delay of 2-3 quarters).

According to analysts, the current demand for transmission capacity clearly shows that Russia is unable to refuse transit of gas through the territory of Ukraine. Kiev has 3-4 years to build a system to ensure independence from supplies from Russia, even if they are implemented with the participation of EU countries.
