Iran plans to achieve production of 55 million tons of steel by 2025

Iran, in the strategic plan for the development of the metallurgical industry, has determined that by 2025 it should have a design capacity of 55 million tons of steel.

The increase in steel production capacity is associated with further industrialization and the presence of a huge market in the Middle East. Domestic per capita steel consumption is expected to increase substantially in 2025.

In addition, if, according to the plan, steel consumption increases to 34 million tons from the current 17 million tons, then 21 million tons per year will be destined for export.
