Ilyich Iron and Steel Works opened a training center for metallurgists

Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol, part of Metinvest, has completed the reconstruction of a training center for its employees. By the 120th anniversary of the enterprise, 14 classrooms, 4 auditoriums for managers, two conference rooms, a buffet and recreation areas were introduced. The creation of a multifunctional training center for metallurgists cost UAH 14 million.

All classrooms have been renovated taking into account the requirements of ergonomics in a corporate style, equipped with new furniture, modern computer and multimedia systems (smart TVs, interactive whiteboards, laptops, projectors).

To practice practical skills and improve the qualifications of employees, some classrooms are equipped with simulators of the technologies "Steel smelting in a converter", "Steel casting on a slab continuous casting machine (CCM)", "Calculation of the composition of the charge for a blast furnace", "Defects of metal blanks of CCM" ...

The updated industrial sites will allow training specialists in modern hydraulics and pneumatics, programmable controllers. And training at the landfill for work at height will reduce the risk of injury at work.

Polygons Lean and HSE will help the center's students quickly and efficiently learn the principles of 5C, rapid response systems, industrial and fire safety. Recreation areas have been created for communication of participants in forums, seminars and conferences.

The opening ceremony of the training center was attended by the heads of the city, Metinvest Group and Mariupol enterprises of the company, as well as representatives of Mariupol universities.
