Swiss company is going to make millions with Nord Stream 2

Швейцарская компания собирается заработать миллионы на Nord Stream 2
Gazprom and the Swiss company Allseas Group have signed a contract for the construction of the offshore section of Nord Stream 2. This is another order from the Russian concern for a Swiss company that specializes in laying subsea pipelines.

Previously, the company agreed to perform seabed intervention works on a section of more than 900 km of the Turkish Stream pipeline. This time we are talking about more than 1000 km of gas pipeline under the Baltic Sea. For legal reasons, an agreement will be signed on the location of the pipeline in the territorial waters of Russia and Germany.

In accordance with the agreement, the construction of the gas pipeline will begin next year and continue in 2019. The work must be performed by three specialized divisions of the company. Although the parties did not provide investment costs, experts believe that Allseas Group could earn several hundred million euros in construction.

The Nord Stream 2 project includes the construction of two pipelines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The pipes will connect Russia with Germany. The new pipeline is to be located along the existing Nord Stream.

Nord Stream 2 is a controversial project that will transport Russian gas to Germany. Due to the high cost of building the pipeline, some experts question its feasibility. Nevertheless, the Russians are pushed for construction, on the one hand, by the desire to increase gas supplies to the heart of Europe, on the other hand, to refuse the services of transit countries.
