During the week ending March 4, 2017, U.S. crude steel production rose 1.76 million tonnes, up from 1.69 million tonnes in the same period last year, according to the American Metallurgical Institute. Capacity utilization was 74.3%, an increase of 3.8% over the same period last year.
As of March 4, 2017, after adjustments, US crude steel production was 15.59 million tonnes, up 4.6% from 14.91 million tonnes in the same period last year. Capacity utilization was 73.1% and also increased from 70.9% in the corresponding period.
