Meanwhile, imports of pig iron and steel in Pakistan totaled 343,257 tons in July, an increase of 32.8% year-on-year and 82.8% compared to the previous month. Scrap imports to Pakistan increased by 65 percent in July 2025 compared to June
Scrap imports to Pakistan totaled 311,888 tons in July this year, up 65.0 percent from June and up 13.8 percent year-on-year, according to data released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics of Pakistan (PFBS). The value of these imports in this month amounted to $154.17 million, an increase of 72.9% month-on-month and a decrease of 5.2% year-on-year.
