According to British analysts, sheet steel prices in Europe continue to fall

The British analytical agency Meps (International) published a report on the production and consumption of steel products in the European Union.

The crisis in Europe does not subside. Financial instability extremely negatively affects the market for metal rolling in Europe. Pessimism and growing distrust between manufacturers and consumers of steel products undermine the already weak demand.

The metallurgical plants of the European Union are simply not able to hold the prices for steel at the same level, and the price is not in principle about increasing prices.

Cheap imports from China forces traders to reduce prices for metal rolling, and purchases steel products only in case of emergency.

The most stable situation is only in the German market. Basic vacation prices have not changed since July 2012. The reserves in traders warehouses are sufficient to meet the demand of retail consumers.

The French and Italian metal products look more dull. The summer lull has not yet been completely overcome and local businessmen are in no hurry to invest in metal, hoping for a further drop in prices.

Great Britain and Spain were faced with the problem of excess capacity in the steel industry. In Spain, this problem is especially acute.

According to analysts of the MEPS agency, a certain improvement in the situation in the steel markets of the European Union, it is worth expecting no earlier than November 2012.
