According to Rosstat, in the first five months of 2017, Russian metallurgists produced 25.1 million tonnes of finished rolled products, which is 1.1% higher than the production in the same period last year. At the same time, the production of rolled metal products in May 2017 decreased by 1.8% on an annualized basis, and fell by 2.1% compared to the previous month.
The production of pig iron in January-May amounted to 21.7 million tons. The decrease in volumes on an annualized basis is 0.2%.
Russian pipe enterprises increased their volumes in May by 10.2% on an annualized basis, compared to the previous month, the indicators improved by 2.7%. In January-May 2017, a 6.6% decrease was recorded in the volume of production of steel pipes and profiles.
