Major steel producers in May 2017

According to the latest statistics published by the World Steel Association, in May this year, global steel production in 67 countries amounted to 143.325 million tons. The monthly issue was up 2.0% from the same month output a year earlier. These 67 countries accounted for approximately 99% of total global steel production in 2016.

The following table lists the top ten countries in the world in terms of steel production in May 2017, in thousands of tonnes:
