Steel consumption in Iran has been increasing for two consecutive months and reached 3.42 million tons between March 21st and May 21st. The use of steel products increased by 22% compared to the same period last year.
At the same time, Iranian crude steel production amounted to 3.53 million tons, an increase of 12% over the same period last year. Exports amounted to 1.08 million tons, an increase of 45% over the same period last year.
In the first half of 2017, Iranian steel production was 8.159 million tonnes, up 946 thousand tonnes and 7.215 million tonnes over the same time period in 2016.
