According to the results for January-July 2017, global steel production amounted to 977.321 million tons, an increase of 4.6% compared to the same 7 months of 2016, when smelting amounted to 933.976 million tons, according to the World Steel Association.

2. Japan - a fall of 4.3%, to 8,588 million tons
3. India - growth of 3.5%, up to 8362 thousand tons
4. USA - 5.6%, up to 7,071 thousand tons
5. South Korea - an increase of 2.3%, to 6159 thousand tons
6.Russia - drop by 8%, to 5585 thousand tons
7.Germany - an increase of 3.6%, up to 3514 thousand tons
8.Turkey - an increase of 27.8%, up to 3345 thousand tons
9. Brazil - an increase of 1%, to 2832 thousand tons
10.Italy - an increase of 1.7%, to 212 thousand tons
11. Taiwan - an increase of 1.9%, to 196 thousand tons
12.Ukraine - a drop of 12.9%, to 181 thousand tons
