In February 2018, metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine produced 1.56 million tons of pig iron, which is 20% lower than in January 2018; 1.51 million tonnes of steel, down 20%, rolled steel 1.3 million tonnes, down 23%.
During the first two months of 2018, the following were produced: 3.49 million tons of pig iron, which is 6% higher than the level of the same period in 2017; 3.41 million tonnes of steel, down 5%; 2.98 million tonnes of rolled steel, which is 7% less than in the two months of 2017.
The drop in the overall level of output of the main types of products for two months of 2018, compared to the same period in 2017, is a consequence of the loss of part of the capacity in the uncontrolled territory. At the same time, a comparative analysis of the results of two-month activities of metallurgical enterprises in the controlled territory in 2017 and 2018. indicates an increase in the production of pig iron, steel and rolled products.
