The largest Japanese ship owner Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) is seeking to penetrate Turkey with bulk materials.
MOL has signed an agreement with the Turkish steel mill Tosyali Holding, which aims to develop transport agreements for both raw materials and steel products, as well as to develop a joint port in southeast Turkey.
Tosyali is a large Turkish steel company with an output of over 10 million tonnes in 2018 and is developing its business on a large scale both in Turkey and around the world. Last year, the company began operating the world's largest direct reduction iron (DRI) plant in Algeria.
