Ukrainian metallurgy increased gas consumption

Steel mills in Ukraine increased natural gas consumption by 6.5% in January-February 2021.

Electricity consumption by enterprises of the metallurgical sector during this period amounted to about 1.920 billion kWh (104.9% compared to January-February 2020).

Metallurgical plants of Ukraine in 2020 increased the consumption of natural gas by 4.4% compared to the previous year - up to 1.88 billion cubic meters. m, electricity consumption by enterprises during this period amounted to about 11.1 billion kWh (99.4% by 2019).

In 2019, metallurgy reduced natural gas consumption by 2% compared to 2018 - to 1.8 billion cubic meters. m, electricity consumption amounted to about 11.2 billion kWh (95% compared to 2018).

Whereas in 2018 the factories reduced the consumption of natural gas by 4% compared to 2017, taking into account enterprises in the temporarily uncontrolled territory (NKT), but increased by 4% without enterprises on the NKT - up to 1.840 billion cubic meters. m. Electricity consumption by metallurgical enterprises in 2018 amounted to 11.76 billion kWh (102% of consumption in 2017 - with tubing, 106% - without tubing).
