Russian steel producer NLMK Group announced that Danish company NLMK DanSteel provided thick plate for the production of wind turbine tower components for the first large offshore wind farm in Brittany, France.
The wind farm has a capacity of 500 megawatts and can provide electricity to over 800,000 people in Brittany.
NLMK DanSteel manufactures hot rolled structural steel for construction, bridge construction, wind power, offshore oil and gas, shipbuilding, boilers and pressure vessels, and transportation shield. The plant's annual capacity is 550,000 tons of steel sheet.
NLMK DanSteel plans to expand its range of products in the wind energy sector through the facilities of its plant in Lipetsk.
