For 11 months of this year, Georgia reduced black scrap exports to Turkey to 69.2%. According to the National Bureau of Georgian Statistics, scrap export to Turkey, which is the main trading partner of the country, for this period amounted to 6,6911 tons. Moreover, in October and November 2012, exports from Georgia to Turkey were practically absent. In general, export of ferrous metal scrap to Turkey has been reduced since last year.
Georgia's income from this exports fell by $ 24 million. The average price of ferrous scrap exports to Turkey for the past period of 2012 amounted to 360 dollars per ton, compared with 369 dollars per ton in 2011.
Meanwhile, in this period, the exports of ferroalloys from Georgia to Turkey decreased by 53% compared to the same period 2011 and amounted to 15,175 tons. This corresponds to world trends in this direction.
