The President of the Russian Union of Metal Product suppliers answered questions from Internet users

On December 25, 2012, the editorial office of the specialized magazine “Metal Substitution and Sales” hosted the online conference of the co-chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Metal-Expo exhibition, the President of the Russian Union of Metal Products (RSPM), chef metal supply and sale of Alexander Gennadievich Romanov.

During the online conference, the President of the RSPM answered questions received from the Internet users - participants in the market for metal distribution. Alexander Romanov emphasized the vulnerability of Ukrainian metallurgy, as three quarters depending on steel exports and declared the natural gradual displacement of the Ukrainian metal rolling from the Russian market due to the growth of transport costs and the introduction of new metal industries in the Russian Federation. Investments in construction and infrastructure programs declared by the Russian government should warm up the domestic market of the Russian Federation.

Alexander Romanov predicted a slight increase in the consumption of metal rolling next year in the automotive industry, mechanical engineering about the defense industry of Russia, shared his opinion on the market competition between Russian, Ukrainian and metals from other countries, competition between metallurgical companies in trade houses and independent traders, described the development trends their opinion regarding a number of problems of the metallurgical business.

Ukrainian metallurgical companies went by creating their own trading houses and displacing independent metal traders from the market, shipping the bulk of their products for export, so the development of the domestic market is worried primarily to the Ukrainian leadership, Alexander Romanov believes.
