On December 17, 2012, the South Korean steel company Posco won the first prize in the nomination "The Information Protection Award", established by the Korea Ministry of Communications.
For the first time, the prize for "information protection" was awarded in 2002. Among the laureates are the largest South Korean corporations NHN, SK Telecom and Samsung SDS.
At the award ceremony, which took place at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, the head of the Posco strategic planning department, Hwan Seoku, said that "this achievement will become a springboard in the development of the information technology of the corporation."
Posco recognized the importance of the company's information assets in business globalization. Representatives of Posco reported that the information security of the enterprise is the standard developed and adopted by the corporation in 2004.
