The production of stainless steel in Russia fell by 12%

According to experts of the Association of suppliers and consumers of special steels and alloys of the Russian Federation, in January - September 2012, the production of stainless steel products decreased by 11.6% in relation to the same period in 2011, to 75 thousand tons.

The decline in the production of stainless steel products is due, first of all, which has become a traditional decrease in leaflet rental, which has reached 33%over the specified period. However, the production of other stainless steel products increased markedly. The production of long (varietal) rental and pipes grew by 22.8%, the production of stainless wire added 11.7%and the manufacture of stainless steel generation increased by 10.1%.

The share of stainless steel sales decreased to 45% from 60% in 2011, and the share of varietal metal rolling increased to almost 46% from 33% last year. Sales of wires amounted to 2.9% and orders for fork occupied 6% of the total volume of stainless steel products.

Experts noted that this year, holding the palm of the championship in the production of stainless metal distribution for many years, the Chelyabinsk Metzavod lost first place in the Red October plant.
