The invention of celluloid in the 19th century contributed to the creation of plastic bags. Then, at the beginning of the 20th century, cellophane was invented, but its production turned out to be very expensive. Later in 1933, workers at the ICI chemical plant, Reginald Gibson and Eric Forset, were able to experimentally obtain polyethylene, which we still use today.
The first mass production of polyethylene began in the United States. Bags made of this material have been used for packaging fruits, vegetables and bakery products. In 1982 began production of T-shirt bags , the first bags with handles. Plastic bags turned out to be more convenient than paper bags, as they retain moisture and are optimal for transporting food.
Plastic bags were in such demand that by the early 2000s the number of bags being produced exceeded five trillion pieces per year. Now packages are produced in compliance with all sanitary standards and requirements. Among them, the company has been producing 24 bags since its inception only high-quality polyethylene bags, constantly modernizing and expanding production.
A plastic bag is one of the most versatile types of packaging and plays an important role in our everyday life. Every day we use bags to store various goods and products, carry purchases, put garbage and find many other uses on the farm.
A number of important properties have contributed to the widespread use of plastic bags. A package that weighs only a few grams can withstand loads of up to 10 kg or more. They are watertight for leak-proof and extremely low cost.
