Ukraine and the United States signed additional agreements on a transaction in the field of natural resources, which is a key requirement of US President Donald Trump and is crucial for maintaining military assistance to Kyiv.
This step brings both countries closer to the conclusion of a large transaction on the profit section aimed at ensuring US investment capabilities in Ukraine.
On Tuesday, two documents were signed that determine the activities of the investment fund jointly created by Kiev and Washington, the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine told reporters in Kyiv.
The investment fund is provided for in the agreement on minerals ratified by the Ukrainian parliament last week. The agreement obliges Ukraine to replenish this fund, using the share of taxes from new production licenses and other payments. The United States can contribute through financial investments or by offering Ukraine military assistance.
The US interest in the natural resources of Ukraine has become part of Trump's attempt to put an end to a full -scale military clash as soon as possible.
