Ukraine was at the very end of the rating of economic freedoms, taking 161 places among 177 countries. This is evidenced by the results of the annual study of the American Heritage Foundation together with The Wall Street Journal.
In particular, the "Index of Economic Freedom" for Ukraine amounted to 46.3 points out of 100 possible.
As the compilers of the rating noted, the assessment of Ukraine is 0.2 points higher than last year: "Modest success in the freedom of currency regulation and freedom of entrepreneurship outweigh a serious deterioration with the situation with freedom and problems in the field of corruption."
According to experts, economic freedom in Ukraine continues to undergo rigid repressions, laws function poorly, property rights are not sufficiently protected and corruption is widespread.

Hong Kong was recognized as territory with the most free economy in the world (89.3 points out of 100 possible).
The top ten also included Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Canada, Chile, Mauritius, Denmark and the USA.
The lowest, 177th position was taken in the ranking of China - this state has only 1.5 points, and this is taking into account the improvement of last year’s assessment of 0.5 points.
