US President Donald Trump announced that tariffs for steel imports from the United States will be increased by 50%, which is half the current rate, CNN reports.
“We are going to increase steel tariffs in the United States of America by 25%, from 25%to 50%,” he said during the performance at the Steel -Steel Plant of Pittsburgh, state Pennsylvania.
Trump added that he is considering the introduction of a tariff of 40%, but the industry managers told him that they want to introduce a tariff of 50%.
