Since July 22, in the Barsky House of the Galsky estate in Cherepovets, you can visit the Family and Children Fine Art Exhibition. It is held with the support of Severstal and the Kindness of the North Charity Fund.
The exhibition presents works from the private assembly of Alexei Egorov - 75 works of watercolors and graphs created by the masters of the Russian school of the XVIII - XX centuries. Among them are Karl Bryullov, Mikhail Vrubel, Viktor Vasnetsov, Valentin Serov, Zinaida Serebryakova, Victor Popkov, Helius Korzhev and many others. Most of the works are shown for the first time: these are work, usually inaccessible to the general public.
The main topic of the exposition is the image of a child and family in Russian art. Visitors will be able to trace the evolution of childhood perception in various social strata of society - from aristocratic houses to peasant huts and Soviet apartments.
Alexei Egorov, Deputy General Director of Severstal and a collector:
“Children's images are not just cute persons, but whole stories about education, traditions and social changes. Each picture becomes a kind of window into the past, through which we can trace how the attitude of society towards children in different historical periods has changed. It is especially significant that the exhibition will again be held in the key to the “Severstal” region and I hope to like the residents and guests of Cherepovets. ”
The exposition includes rare children's portraits, illustrations for literary works and genre scenes. The work will be represented in the halls of the mansion grouped in stylistic directions and topics:
noble and peasant families;
education and education;
children's games and entertainment.
The exhibition will last until October 26. Tickets can be purchased at the museum’s box office and on the site.
The collector Alexei Egorov is not the first time putting his collection in Cherepovets. This exhibition will end the cycle of exhibitions shown earlier: “living lovely breathes in it ...”; “Such different men.”
