The exhaustion of the potential of “simple” decisions will require Russian companies to further increase investments in creating their own technological base.

The fact is that when introducing digital products, they usually make a choice in favor of local short -term initiatives with a payback of about a year. While the advanced foreign companies have already passed this stage and moved to the implementation of large -scale projects for automation of the entire production with a long payback period - 4 years or more. However, in absolute terms, the complex case brings the economic effect for 10 years more than 20 times more than point digitalization, therefore it is advisable for Russian mining and metallurgical companies in the future to bet on strategic investment projects that can provide high-quality production transformation.
