The second largest steel company Brazil, USINAS Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais Sa (usiminas), accepted it decided to increase the selling prices for hot -rolled sheet steel. This is reported by Bloombreg reporters.
As stated in the message, starting on January 20, 2013, USIMINAS will increase domestic prices by 3.5-7% to increase net profit, the share of which has been reduced due to the sharp rise in the cost of iron ore raw materials and coking coal.
Recall that in early January, the Brazilian branch of Arcelormittal and Ciasiderurgica Nacional SA (CSN), the first and third largest steel company Brazil, respectively, also raised the prices for sheet steel by 3.5-7%.
In particular, the cost of a hot -rolled roll and galvanized CSN products increased by 3.5%, and cold -rolled rolling by 7.2%. ArcelorMittal Brazil on average raised prices by 4.5%.
