The customer from the United States canceled his decision on the purchase of 25 thousand tons of steel pipes at the Italian Metallurgical Plant ILVA, in connection with the breakdown of the supply schedule. It is reported by Steel Orbis.

A large American manufacturer of pipelines and parts for drilling wells substantiated his refusal by the futility of further negotiations regarding transfer of supplies to a later period. " pipeline reinforcement has long been in the warehouses of our company, and the Italian pipe is not visible even in the future," the customer said.

ILVA managers were supposed to put steel pipes totaling $ 25 million with three steamers: the first in the amount of 9 thousand 500 tons was supposed to ship in November 2012, the second by the end of the year and the third in January 2013. The first batch of pipes prepared for sending to America was arrested by the prosecutor's office of the city of Taranto right in the Italian port and is still not shipped.

The refusal of the order was one of the consequences of the trial between the missile defense system and the municipality of Taranto. As we have already reported, by the decision of the Italian court, the metallurgical plant was found guilty of a catastrophic deterioration in the ecology of the city of Taranto.

ILVA managers say that the actions of the city authorities will have far -reaching consequences, and will have an extremely negative impact on the activities of a missile plant, faced with refusals from buyers during an extremely small number of orders.

As we have already reported, more than 20 thousand people work at the ILVA metallurgical plant. The stop and closure of the plant will raise the question of the employment of the population in southern Italy, where large production enterprises are practically absent.
