At the Kametstal plant of the Metinvest Mining and Metallurgical Group (
Kamenskoye, Dnipropetrovsk region), the first stage of a large-scale overhaul of one of the important substations providing power supply to technological processes has begun in the workshop of networks and substations.
According to the company, as part of the overhaul, it is also planned to modernize key equipment, which will increase the reliability of power supply and the safety of personnel.
One of the main tasks of the overhaul is to replace outdated equipment that is no longer used in external electrical networks with modern switching equipment. In particular, the separators will be replaced with a new 150 kV gas switch. The electromagnetic relay will also be replaced by microprocessor–based protection and automation relay units, which will be more sensitive.
