Alaska still extracts almost all of the Arctic zinc.

Аляска по-прежнему извлекает почти весь арктический цинк
The Red Dog deposit with reserves of 25 million tons of zinc is one of the largest in the world. However, by 2012, the main reserves of the deposit had been worked out and the mine's quarry was expanded to the nearby Akkaluk deposit, which extended the life of the enterprise until 2031. The Green Creek deposit ranks second in Alaska after Red Dog in terms of the cost of production. It should be noted that after 10 years of operation, reserves increased by 25% due to exploration work. Lead and silver in Alaska are mined along the way. The experience of Alaska can be considered a very instructive example of the development of resource regions. He showed the possibility of effectively solving the local political, socio-economic, as well as cultural problems of such territories. This is a rebuke to Russia, which underestimated its own socialist practices of the recent past, which Alaska has picked up. The experience of Alaska is of exceptional importance for solving the rent problem. Actually, the approach to this problem is the essence of American policy in this territory, although this is not always publicly emphasized. However, in many documents and scientific papers, the economy of Alaska is directly referred to as "rent". The importance of income from the exploitation of natural resources for Russia is much greater than for the United States. The natural resource potential of our country is estimated at 320-380 trillion dollars. The per capita income is 2.5 million dollars, which, according to various estimates, is 2-3 or even 4-5 times more than in the United States. Moreover, approximately 60-70% of the country's raw material potential is in the Arctic. If we compare the territory of the North-East of Russia (PRAO Magadan Region, Kamchatka Territory, Sakhalin Region), equal in area to the state of Alaska, we get a comparable population, comparable climate, comparable mineral and natural resources, comparable and/or even more developed infrastructure in the SVR, higher GDP (due to Sakhalin Island oil and gas. The population of Alaska, unlike that of Chukotka in Russia, is steadily growing at a rapid pace (unlike the Northern Administrative District, where it is slowly declining): in 1980, 402 thousand people lived in Alaska, in 2000 – 627 thousand, in 2006 – 640 thousand, now – 740 thousand. Chukotka CIAO: decreased from 162 thousand in 1990 to 47 thousand (more than three times!). The funds that ensure the stable development of the economy of the state of Alaska are obtained through the redistribution of income from basic raw materials industries. In Alaska, firms contribute at least 40-50% of their profits to the federal and regional coffers, as well as to social needs through other channels, which is significantly more than in other American states, especially in Russia. The burden of state aid is thus shifting from the federal treasury to private firms. The income from shares is calculated annually and distributed equally among all residents of the state of Alaska who were born
