Turkish steel producer Kocaer Çelik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.
S. (Kocaer Çelik) has announced its financial and operating results for the first half of this year.
During this period, the company achieved a net profit of 393.31 million Turkish liras (9.66 million $), which is double the net profit of 196.14 million Turkish liras in the first half of the previous year, while it recorded an operating profit of 1.24 billion Turkish liras. Turkish lira (30.46 million $) in the specified period, having increased by 42.1 percent year-on-year. Kocaer Çelik's sales revenue decreased 1.6 percent year-on-year to 10.51 billion Turkish liras ($258.22 million).
Meanwhile, the company's EBITDA in the first half of the year increased by 7.9 percent year-on-year to 1.50 billion Turkish liras ($37.1 million).
During the specified period, the sales volume of Kocaer Çelik products amounted to 314,155 tons, an increase of 19.7 percent year-on-year. The share of value-added products in the company's total sales increased to 47 percent from 38 percent in the same period in 2024.
Kocaer Çelik stated that the increase in sales of value-added products helped to maintain the company's profitability, despite the weakness of the global steel industry and declining demand in the domestic market.
