Spartan UK to supply 1,600 tons of steel sheets for nuclear power plant

The British rolling mill Spartan UK, a subsidiary of the Ukrainian Metinvest, has signed a significant contract for the supply of 1,600 tons of steel sheet for the construction of Sizewell C, a new nuclear power plant to be built on the Suffolk coast. The project is one of the most ambitious energy projects in the UK in recent decades, representing the cornerstone of the country's clean energy strategy.

An important step in the UK's transition to clean energy

Once operational, Sizewell C is expected to generate enough clean electricity to power up to 6 million homes. At the peak of the construction phase, the project is projected to create up to 10,000 jobs, stimulating both the regional and national economies.

Spartan UK Sales Manager Ian Robinson confirmed that the final dimensions for the production of the thick sheet have already been received. The steel order will be delivered in two stages: the first batch of 800 tons is scheduled for August 2025, and the second batch of the remaining 800 tons is scheduled for the third quarter of 2025.
