The leading Indian analytical agency Care Research published a report according to which internal demand for steel in India will grow by 6.7% annually until 2017. This indicator is much higher than in China.
The internal demand for steel in India has been increasing by 8% annually since 2004, Indian experts emphasize. In the near future, the Indian industry will experience a deficit of metal rolling over the next 2 years.
An increase in demand will be compensated by the supply of metal, thereby maintaining a stable internal demand in the short term. Demand for sheet steel will be caused by an increase in car sales and an increase in pipes, and varietal rental will be in demand against the backdrop of moderate growth demand from the construction sector, Care Research analysts write.
However, in world markets, a serious structural shift will occur in the very structure of steel consumption. The demand for steel in the countries of the European Union and the United States will fall, and in countries with a developing economy, such as India and China, will increase significantly. Global steel consumption in 2013 - 14 years will grow by an average of no more than 2%, the Care Research predicts.
Demand for steel in India will grow by 6.7% in 2013
