Daily crude steel production at CISA plants increased by 4.7% in early August, and inventories also increased.

The China Association of Ferrous Metallurgy (CISA) reported that in early August (August 1-10) of this year, the average daily crude steel production by large and medium-sized steel mills in China - all CISA members - amounted to 2.074 million tons, which is 4.7 percent more than at the end of July (July 21-31) of this year.

At the end of July, the average daily volume of crude steel production by large and medium-sized steel mills in China amounted to 1,982 million tons, which is 7.4 percent less than in the middle of July (July 11-20) this year.

The inventory level of large and medium-sized steel mills in China has increased over the period. As of August 10, the stocks of finished steel of large and medium-sized metallurgical enterprises in China amounted to 15.07 million tons, an increase of 2.0 percent compared with July 31.
