Zaporizhstal has invested $3 million in the modernization of heat wells in the hot rolling workshop

The Ukrainian Metallurgical Plant Zaporizhstal, part of the Metinvest Group, is promoting an annual capital investment program with a large-scale modernization project for its hot rolling workshop. The company is carrying out major repairs of three groups of heating wells (four wells per group) in the slab shop, while the total investment exceeds UAH 135 million ($ 3.26 million).

Currently, Zaporizhstal operates at approximately 75 percent of its production capacity. The company aims to increase this figure to 100 percent through maintenance and repair of the main production equipment.

Heating wells are a critical element in the hot rolling process, ensuring uniform heating of the workpieces before rolling. Their stable temperature regime directly affects the mechanical properties of rolled products, compliance with international quality standards and compliance with specific customer requirements.
