The Russian manufacturer became the Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant (MMK) announced that in 2025 it would allocate more than 10.2 billion rubles ($ 126.84 million) for environmental initiatives, confirming its commitment to sustainable steel production.
these investments are part of the Ecological Program of MMK for 2025, which determines the priority projects of minimization of the environmental impact of metallurgical production.
The main environmental investment in 2025
- Cox -chemical production: more than 2.6 billion rubles will be aimed at modernizing and building environmental protection objects. About 1.8 billion rubles. It will be aimed at reconstruction of domain furnaces in five domain furnaces, which is planned to be completed by 2027.
- slag processing: MMK plans to process 7.5 million tons of current and accumulated metallurgical slag, including re -use of at least 1.8 million tons in the production of agglomerate as secondary raw materials.
In total, 25 environmental initiatives are planned in the main divisions of the plant and seven additional projects at the subsidiaries of PJSC MMK.
