According to customs statistics, in July of this year, the export of Japanese scrap of ferrous metals amounted to 615,634 tons, which is 7.9 percent more compared to 570,221 tons in the same month of the previous year. In the period from January to July of this year, the country exported 4.43 million tons of scrap, which is 17.8 percent more than in the previous year.
during this period, Vietnam was the largest importer of Japanese scrap, importing 1.92 million tons, which is 30 percent more than in the previous year. Vietnam was followed by South Korea and Bangladesh, importing 749,544 tons and 738,240 tons of scrap, which is 21.8% and 159.9% more in annual calculus, respectively.
Meanwhile, the export of Japanese scrap to Taiwan amounted to 280,304 tons of this year compared to 401,227 tons for a similar period previous year.
