The value of base metals exports from South Africa decreased by 18.2 percent in January-July 2025

According to data published by the South African Revenue Service (SARS), in July of this year, the value of exports of South African non-ferrous metals and products made from them amounted to 14.94 billion South African rials ($850.37 million), which is 21.2% more than in June. In the period from January to July, the value of exports of base metals and products made from them in South Africa decreased by 18.2 percent year-on-year to 103.99 billion South African rials ($5.92 billion).

In July, imports of base metals and products made from them to South Africa amounted to 8.66 billion. YUAN ($492.94 million), an increase of 6.4 percent from the previous month, while in the first seven months of 2025, imports of base metals and products made from them to South Africa decreased 3.6 percent year-on-year to 56.38 billion. yuan ($3.21 billion) compared to the same period in 2024.
